The Pan African Pension Fund Governance Awards 2025 stand as a prestigious recognition of leadership, innovation, and accountability in the management of retirement funds across the continent. Held annually as part of the Pan African Summit on Pension Funds Governance, the awards honour trustees, administrators, asset managers, and institutions who exemplify best practices in governance and sustainable investment.


Taking place at the upcoming Pan African Summit on Pension Funds Governance and Awards 2025, taking place onboard the MSC Cruise from 1–5 December 2025.

Entry Opens: 3 June 2025


From this date, nominations and entries for the Pan African Awards on Pension & Retirement Funds Governance 2025 will officially open. Eligible organisations and individuals can begin submitting their entries online via the official Nexus & Nexus website.


How to Enter:


Visit the awards portal at www.nexusandnexus.com/awards (link to go live on 3 June 2025).


  • Select a Category – Choose from one or more of the listed award categories under Innovation & Technology, Governance & Stewardship, Investment Performance, or Member Benefits & Services.

  • Complete the Entry Form – Provide details about your organisation, project, or initiative. Be sure to highlight measurable impact, innovation, and alignment with best practices.

  • Upload Supporting Documents – Include relevant reports, case studies, testimonials, and visuals to support your submission.

  • Submit Your Entry – All entries must be submitted through the portal; email submissions will not be accepted.


Entry Deadline: 30 September 2025


All award entries must be completed and submitted by midnight (SAST) on 30 September 2025. No late entries will be considered.


Shortlisting Announcement: 15 October 2025


A panel of independent industry judges will review all submissions. The shortlist of finalists per category will be announced and published on the event website and via official social media channels.


Final Judging: October – November 2025


Final evaluations and winner selections will be conducted by the awards committee, based on impact, innovation, governance standards, and alignment with industry best practices.


Awards Ceremony: 4 December 2025


Winners will be revealed during the Pan African Pension Funds Governance Awards Gala Dinner, hosted on the evening of Day 4 of the Summit onboard the MSC Cruise.


With categories ranging from “Best Fund Governance Practice” to “Leader in ESG Integration,” the awards shine a spotlight on those who go beyond compliance to deliver long-term value for members and communities. In a rapidly evolving financial landscape, they underscore the importance of ethical leadership, transparency, and future-focused strategy.
